24 hours in SF -Stop #5 Cable Car and Lombard Street

We waited at Fisherman's Wharf for a Cable Car and then because the wait was so long, we decided we would just walk and then take the Cable Car on the other side. So we walked all the way up Lombard Street! No, not just the curvy part, the WHOLE thing! Our legs were burning by the time we got to the top, but the views were amazing!

24 hours in SF- Stop #4 Fisherman's Wharf

Our hotel was on the calm and quiet side of Fisherman's Wharf.....just a few blocks down was a bustling metropolis, Ghiradelli Factory and all!! By this time we were starving so stopped for lunch and then on to Boudin's Bakery for the famous San Francisco Sourdough, and then on to see the Sea Lions lounging on the docks.

24 hours in SF- Stop #3 Golden Gate Park

After Haight, it was down to Golden Gate Park (which is HUGE) I was thinking we could just walk through the park and see everything (not possible, its too huge) We did go into the Japanese tea garden which was beautiful, and then drove over to see the Dutch Windmill and the non-existent Queen's Rose Garden. There was a very lovely garden at the base of the windmill, however we saw a sign with an arrow that pointed towards a supposed rose garden, but it was just a walk through the woods and a view of a homeless man sleeping...haha. Oh well.

24 hours in SF -Stop #2 Haight and Ashbury

From the Painted Ladies we headed to Haight Street, a necessary part of any San Francisco experience :)

24 hours in San Fran-Early morning walk then Stop #1

I woke up early to try and get some morning fog photos of the bridge, but there wasn't much fog and I soon realized that the walk to the base of the bridge was miles longer than I originally thought. I was tempted to rent a bike, but it was too early and there wasn't enough time in our short stay to do everything I wanted to do. After breakfast, the first stop on the whirlwind San Francisco tour was "the painted ladies and Alamo Square" It was like being on the set of Full House.

Twin Peaks

After the bridge we went up to Twin Peaks where you can see views of the entire city. It was insanely windy and absolutely freezing!!! I did some experimenting with slow shutter speed portraits.

First glance at the Golden Gate Bridge

We checked into our hostel at Fort Mason in Fisherman's Wharf, saw our lovely bunk bed. The hostel was actually quite nice (and cheap) despite the shared bathroom and the throngs of European girls needing to straighten their hair at 7am)then before the sun set we went down to see the bridge! If it weren't for a bunch of trees outside our window we would have been able to see the bridge from our hostel.
We also discovered that the field by the bridge is named Crissy Field!
